QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree or High School Diploma/G.E.D and NCLB required.
- Must be willing to participate in ongoing professional development.
- A high tolerance for frustration and a high degree of patience.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to work well with others including children.
- First Aid/ CPR preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge is required.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Other qualifications to the above that the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.

JOB GOAL: Enable students, through meaningful playground and lunchroom leadership, to enjoy the group interaction and physical exercise that are an integral part of the District educational program. To assist in providing a safe, well-organized, smoothly functioning school environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor students in the lunchroom, playground, corridors, and lavatories.
- Assist with clerical work and preparation of educational materials and audio-visual aids and equipment.
- Distribute playground equipment.
- Direct first aid problems to the nurse’s office.
- Report incidents and serious discipline problems to the principal or designee.
- Distribute and collect educational materials as required.
- Assist in inventorying and organization of general supplies and educational materials.
- Assist students in following cafeteria procedures and rules and maintain student safety.
- Direct students to pick up trash and excess food and place it in receptacles.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist teachers with individual and small group instruction.
- Assist in preparing displays for bulletin boards, cabinets, showcases, etc
- Monitor activities that may be planned by school personnel.
- Assist in maintaining child accounting records as needed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year
EVALUATION: For new employees, evaluations will be performed according to the current collective bargaining agreement. For transferring employees, evaluations will be done at 30 days. All regular employees will be evaluated at least yearly.
