QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Hold a valid PA certificate as a Vocational Education Supervisor.
  2. Valid PA Principal Certification.
  3. Knowledge and competence in the management of vocational-technical programs.
  4. Excellent verbal and written skills.
  5. Strong management skills.
  6. Proficient with Word, Excel, and Data Base management.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
  8. Knowledge of college and technical school opportunities for vocational/technical students.
  9. Familiar with local businesses, governmental agencies, and non-profits (preferred).

REPORTS TO:           Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

 

SUPERVISES:           Career and Technical SLC and Technical Education Programs on the Campus

  

JOB GOALS:              Provide leadership in all areas of the Technical Education Program on the Campus.  Serve as part of the administrative team.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serve as Technical Education instructional leader.  Oversee all aspects of the Technical Education program, including professional development, curriculum standards and alignment, testing and assessments.
  2. Supervise and evaluate certified and non-certified staff persons required for school operations.
  3. Address strategic planning for fiscal operations and resource and technology management for school building.
  4. Address budget planning and resource allocation.
  5. Oversee safety regulations in all labs, safety training, and safety supplies.
  6. Compose reports and maintain data records for department.
  7. Help organize and administer the NOCTI tests.
  8. Maintain and expand business partnerships, internships, and job shadowing experiences
  9. Manage equipment and text book ordering, inventories, and maintenance.
  10. Supervise all CTC activities, including application process, placement, supervision and discipline of students. 
  11. Monitor grades and skills performance of students at the CTC. 
  12. Meet with CTC staff on a regular basis to plan and evaluate programs.
  13. Attend conferences and institutes. 
  14. Share information with faculty and administration.
  15. Assist administration with discipline of students.
  16. Assist with career and college events (Career and Tech Night).
  17. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the administration.
  18. Develop shared vision for school-to-career and cooperative education strategies.
    1. facilitate development of District vision for school-to-career and cooperative education.
    2. Support students and programs with Lancaster Career and Technology Center (CTC).
    3. Support students and programs in vocational labs.
    4. Develop articulation agreements between the High Schools and various colleges.
  19. Implement k-12 school-to-career program by creating rich and deep connections among standards,               
  20. Assessments and wide range of career opportunities.
  21. Update Technical program approvals including scope and sequence and submit to PDE.
  22. Administer Perkins and Tech Prep grants.
  23. Submit e-grants to PDE.
  24.  Oversee budget items.
  25.  Keep folders on grant assurances with all needed paperwork.
  26. Send end of year reports to PDE.
  27. Coordinate grant budgets with the business office.
  28. Attend various school and business meetings.
  29. Oversee NOCTI testing.
  30. Observe and supervise vocational students.
  31. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinate campus visits and off-campus trips.
  2. Develop and maintain the curriculum guide for Technical Education.
  3. Communicate issues involved in building a master schedule and supporting the vocational labs.
  4. Attend IEP meetings.
  5. Attend SLC and campus meetings.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:           Full year.   Salary to be established by the Board

 

 

EVALUATION:         Performance is evaluated per the district’s Performance Evaluation and Compensation Plan for School and District Leaders.

Environment:

School settings, including offices, classrooms, hallways, cafeteria and school grounds, as well as neighborhood/community

Ability to travel to other locations for training and meetings
